Cleveland House is run by proprietors Nicky Huitson and Chris Ewins, with two very experienced deputy managers overseeing the day to day running of the home, supervising trained staff who provide 24-hour care.
We aim to provide a warm relaxed atmosphere, whilst respecting the privacy and independence of our residents at all times.
We are very much person centred in our approach and this is reflected in our Review and Care Planning process.
Staff & Qualifications
Nicky's qualifications are a B.Ed in Special Education, and an Advanced Diploma in Educational Management, coupled with 18 years teaching experience in various types of special school.
Chris has a B.Sc (Hons), and PGCE, as well as many years teaching experience in Secondary Education. He has co-run Cleveland House from its inception in 1995.
Our 2 deputy managers,Anne Phillips and Carol Rigden are currently completing the Registered Managers Award,and 3 of our current staff are currently undertaking NVQ level 3.
The majority of our other staff are trained to a minumum of NVQ Level 2,and ongoing internal and external training is given to all staff.
