Education, Work & Leisure
We are lucky to have a wide range of activities available in the Broadstairs and the surrounding area.
Individuals are encouraged to pursue and develop their own interests with support as necessary. We have access to the Garden Gate, Thanet College, Skillnet, SureStart, Hilderstone College, and Thanet DOC,
Additionally, we have a coffee shop which is open to the public at certain times of the year,which we are hoping to develop further over the coming months.
We also have a qualified teacher who comes and takes a couple of sessions a week with small groups, centring on their interests and what they would like to learn.
Evening and weekend activities
Evening and weekend activities include Gateway Club, Melting Pot, Evening Classes, Pottery, Cooking for Fun, Fitness and Weight Training, Pub Visits , Swimming, Walks and visits to local attractions such as Bird Parks, Theatre trips, Cinema, Funfairs, Football etc. Residents are encouraged through regular Residents Meetings to state what they would like to pursue.
Holidays & Breaks
We do 3 or 4 residentials a year also,and individuals chose their preferred options.Previous residentials have included mini-cruises,trips to Butlins,Haven Centre Parcs,a villa holiday in Portugal and Euro Disney. We subsidise the cost of these trips to make them more affordable to residents. These holidays offer a valuable opportunity to consolidate other skills learnt through the year.
