In this issue: Our New Web Site |
|
We now have our own web site, which contains
details of all we do, as well as incorporating
quarterly newsletters and details of how to buy our
Christmas cards online this year! If you would like
to visit, the website address is
www.clevelandhouse.net . We would be very
interested to get feedback on what you think, and
ideas on how to enhance what we can offer through
this facility. There are contact details on the web
page.Alternatively, you can contact us,as usual, by
phone on (01843 866509), or fax (01843 863061) Following the success of last years residential
to Lake Garda, we decided to visit the Dordogne
area of France this year.We again went with
Eurosites, but opted for the cosier option of
caravans as opposed to tents! A good time was had
by all, despite the first few days being colder
than England(!), but we made good use of the
outdoor swimming pool and barbecue regardless. This
is probably the last "whole group" holiday we shall
do, with the likelihood that we shall instead do 2
or 3 small group holidays from 2002, where more
emphasis can be placed on individual preferences.
When the coffee shop is up and running, people will
be able to put part of their wages into their own
dedicated holiday fund, which will give them the
autonomy to have more choice. to Stephanie Grimwood, on completing her 2 year
Open University course "Equal People"!!!! Also,
well done to Nathan and Nick Newport for
successfully completing their Computer Assisted
Learning course. We are also pleased to announce
that Matthew has been accepted to Thanet College
starting in September-Well done. |
We will have one large single vacant room
available from July 2001, with 4 more becoming
available in the next 6 months, if all building
work goes to schedule! Please contact Nicky or
Chris for further details on (01843) 866509 As most of you are aware, we have recently
purchased the adjacent property to Cleveland House
with the intention of developing a coffee
shop,together with a further 4/5 bedrooms, a
computer suite, new office and meeting room. To
date, we have replaced all windows with new UPVC,
done external repairs as needed, and repainted the
front of the property . Additionally, Chris has,
with the help of some of our residents, stripped
out the interior of the property. The building work
has now gone out to tender, and we are hopeful to
start work later this summer. The Cleveland Seagulls continue their weekly
training sessions, and have played a couple more
matches at Stone Bay this quarter. We have now added Archery, 5 a side football and
hockey, and Trampolining to our weekly
activities,in addition to Gateway Club, various
college and Hilderstone evening classes, Pottery,
Pub night, and Melting Pot. Recently,we purchased a 3 bedroom mobile home on
the Foxhunter Caravan Park at Monkton-about 8 miles
away. This will enable us to access the facilities
there, such as the outdoor heated swimming pool,
putting and croquet(!). Additionally they have a
fairly varied selection of evening entertainments
including shows, cabarets and discoes, which small
groups will be able to access as part of our
extensive leisure programme. If you would like more information about what
we do,or you would like to arrange a visit, then
